 Frequently Asked Questions

have a question? we have answers!

Don’t see what you’re looking for? Send us your questions to info@girlsdoski.com or call 250.683.9139 - we’re here to help!

  • Revelstoke is about 2.5 hours from Kelowna and 5 hours from Calgary.

Always check road conditions, and allow extra time for winter driving. DriveBC.ca is your best bet for updates

If you're flying in, we highly recommend flying into Kelowna instead of Calgary. The Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Calgary goes through Rogers Pass and frequently closes for avalanche control. The highway can also close between Kelowna and Revelstoke, but not as frequently.

Revelstoke Transfers runs a daily airport shuttle between Kelowna and Revelstoke.

  • You will have to provide your own transportation to your camp. We can connect you with other women in the camp for carpooling if both parties are willing.

To get to Revelstoke Mountain Resort, you can also take the Resort Shuttle. Check with your hotel, as a lot of hotels will offer a free pass for the resort shuttle. The resort is a 5-15 minute drive from just about anywhere in Revy.

There is no public transportation that goes to Rogers Pass. Rogers Pass is 65km east from Revelstoke or about an hour’s drive on winter roads.

  • Powder Rentals is your best bet. Book ahead for up to 35% off the walk-up rate.

  • Revelstoke has so many accomodations, this one is really up to you. If you're someone who wants to hit a hot tub after your camp, the Sutton Place or Coast Hillcrest might be your spot. If you are here for skiing and no frills, try Swiss Chalet Motel or The Grizz Hotel. For vacation homes, we recommend the UpTownley or the Burrow Guesthouse. We definitely recommend booking in advance, as winter is very popular!

Book direct where you can and keep your dollar in our community!

  • Revelstoke is situated between two often closed or delayed passes on the TransCanada Highway. For this reason, we highly recommend checking the Drive BC page for scheduled avalanche closures, and arriving for your camp the night before.

We also reccommend that you have an emergency kit in your vehicle (food, water, warmth) in the event you get stuck behind an avalanche closure or accident. If the road closes to Rogers Pass restricting us from going there for a camp day, we will have an alternative plan to tour around Revelstoke.

If you are staying out of town. (i.e, Golden, Salmon Arm) we will not refund any days missed for road closures. We highly recommend staying in Revelstoke.

  • Yes, even for backcountry! Well, some backcountry… If you are joining us for a Resort Camp, Combo Camp, Beginner Tour or Intermediate Tour you will need a lift ticket. We offer discounted lift tickets for our camps at 50% off the window rate. If you did not add lift tickets to your order at checkout, you can do that here.

If you have purchased lift tickets through us we will have you RFID card loaded on the first day of your camp. Once we purchase the cards, we can no longer refund your tickets, so please let us know if you will be using another pass product.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort is on the Ikon Pass and the Mountain Collective Pass. Both these passes provide direct-to-lift access. If you plan on using your Ikon or Collective Pass, please have your pass printed and ready to go the day before your camp. Revelstoke is NOT on the Epic Pass.

  • If you are joining us for an Advanced, Savvy, Guides or Ropes Course, you will need to apply for your Annual Winter Permit to ski Rogers Pass.

It’s completely free of charge and takes only 40 minutes to do the quiz, but it can take up to one week for Parks Canada to process your permit so plan ahead.

The winter permit system exists to keep skiers out of the way of the highway avalanche control program in Glacier National Park. Everything you need to know is on Parks Canada’s website.

You will also need a national parks pass for skiing in Glacier National Park. Again, Parks Canada will have all the info on this.

  • You can view our cancellation policy, and all other policies here. We highly recommend checking if your credit card includes travel and cancellation insurance, or booking through a third party such as Lifestyle Financial Insurance.

  • Yes you will - our waiver is accessible on our website at all times to view and read. When you sign up for a camp, you will be prompted to read and sign the waiver online, in your own time. You will then sign a paper copy the morning of your camp. We are here to answer any and all questions about the waiver. It is important that you read and understand it fully before signing.

 What to bring

Check out our packing lists! What to bring is dependent on what course you're on. We trust you to know how much food, water, and layers you need to have a good time! These lists are our baseline suggestions on what you will need for your camps, but feel free to bring any extras for your comfort. Click on the image to get a printable PDF.
